Development

As the Englishman war over was and the consequences of the national bankruptcy fell off, started for Bornholm with a happy time. The acquisition came in start to live, the great technical development always accelerated itself and became the geographical insulation with that more openly.
The first regular steam navigation came into business. However only in summer and with post paddle-steamers.
The first tourists wrote over the romantic panoramas and picturesque fishing villages embellish, of course man types.
With an older paddle-steamer a bornholmische society in 1858 took alone the shipping to Copenhagen and Ystad.
1866 became this society to a public limited company reorganized and had a new, modern ship built 39 m for a long time and with 60 horsepowers.
A new society called at the Ostbornholmer ports and Hasle as of 1877. The flow of tourists was getting in start correctly now and a real tourist invasion gushed in from Germany toward the end of the century.
Resulted for industry, both stone and ceramics industry, and engineering works was built.
A train of Rønne was - Almindingen built, so that to Nexø with the branch line Aakirkeby in 1901 the Bornholmer could make their excursions to the woods without problems.
Hotels were built primarily nearby Sandvig and one - this has burned down directly in Almindingen nearby an animal scene and other excursion attractions.
This development of the tourism went up to the year 1914. The war then brought the hotel construction which was resumed only after the 2nd World War to the interruption, and pensions, youth hostels and resting-places took on the role.
